Laughing Gas Improv doubles shows during Dairy Month
Laughing Gas Comedy Improv Theatre Company celebrates National
Dairy Month by coubling its performances in June. The troupe performs
every weekend at the Main Street Playhouse, 6766 Main Street,
and this month, in addition to the regularly scheduled shows at
11p.m. on Friday and Saturday, performances will be offered at
9p.m. Admission is $10 per person for all shows.
In honor of Miami Lakes' long-time cow connection, Laughing Gas
presents a series of shows designed to milk every ounce of comedy
out of Naitonal Dairy Month.
"A month-long celebration of milk products, it's a natural
for comedy," said director Gerald Owens. "It does a
comedic body good."
June 16 and 17, "Make My Milk a Double" rejuvenates
the audience with the full recommended daily allowance of laughter
to help build strong funny bones.
June 23 and 24, "Double Meat Sandwich" features cutting-edge
comedy honed to slice directly to the meat of the matter.
In July the schedule returns to normal with 11p.m. shows on Fridays
and Saturdays.
"Six Degrees Improv" is the theme for Saturday, July
8, as the cast celebrates the birthday of actor/musician Kevin
Bacon.
Shows run about 90 minutes, and each performance reflects the
news and events of the week, with titles and content always subject
to change. The topics include politics, popular culture, family
values, social issues and more in a series of improvised sketches
and musical numbers.
