Laughing Gas, South Florida's longest-running improv troupe,
is turning its sights to the Academy Awards, which will be lampooned
in The Academy Aweirds: Rockin' Hollywood in two shows
in Miami Lakes.
The company will perform at 11pm Friday and Saturday at the Main
Street Playhouse, 6766 Main St.
Audience members will also be allowed to submit their predictions
for the Oscars for a chance to win two free tickets to a future
Laughing Gas performance.
"We're continuing in our 13th season of humor at the expense
of popular culture," said Laugghing Gas Director Gerald Owens.
"The Academy Awards makes a great target for us to lampoon."
Cast member Valerie Zach said audiences are interested in celebrities.
"Lampooning them will give me a chance to use more wigs and
costumes than ever before," she said.
Admission price is $10. For reservations, call 305-461-1161.
