Laughing Gas Press Release 5/9/2005

Laughing Gas Gets Partners To Support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society "Team in Training" on May 19th

The Laughing Gas Comedy Improv Theatre Company, South Florida's longest-running improv troupe, has been joined by others to help support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society "Team in Training" program. Those joining in the effort will help make the night one to remember and help to make it a success.

The Main Street Playhouse has been kind enough to donate their space for the evening, with their doors opening at 8pm on Thursday, May 19th at 6766 Main Street in Miami Lakes (across from the Johnny Rockets). Their donation allows the full $10 ticket price to be a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team in Training program. The Main Street Playhouse, home to the Main Street Players - the community theatre of Miami Lakes, also puts on productions by several other theater companies including the Edge Theatre, the Promethean Theatre, and Laughing Gas appears regularly on Friday and Saturday nights.

Cloud 9 Therapeutic Massage Corp. will offer chair massages for $1 a minute with the proceeds going to the charity. Terri Darias, the President of Cloud 9, has been making a name for herself in the community of Miami Lakes by being open to helping those in need. While providing licensed massage therapy, Cloud 9 has earned a reputation as one of the most professional therapeutic companies in the area.

Gold Coast Coffee has joined in the effort and will provide coffee to the attending audience to show their appreciation for the donations that evening. Gold Coast provides coffee service to offices and professional environments and is currently expanding their business through hiring sales personnel and franchises for the area.

This show will consist of 90 minutes of improvised comedy as a way of saying thanks to the audience for their donations to this worthy cause. There is a $10 minimum donation to attend the event and proceeds will go directly to the "Team in Training" program of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, with the money being used to fight blood cancers. Additional donations are certainly encouraged and may be given through the local organizers website at www.active.com/donate/fundraise/NatGarcia.

"We're happy that so many others have joined us in our efforts to help the Team in Training program," said Laughing Gas Director Gerald Owens. "Laughter brings people together and hopefully we can help make a difference."

This show is part of Laughing Gas' "Improv-ing The Community" effort to improve the community as a whole through their performances and good works. Over the past several months, Laughing Gas has performed shows to "Improv The Vote", Em-ceed a Tsunami benefit, and helped raise money for charities with their "Improv-ing The Community" campaign. Laughing Gas has been picked as a Social Miami "Pick of the Week" several times for their themed shows and is regularly recognized for its socially relevant material.
