Papi Chulo
Laugh with dad, not at him
Father's Day honors the typical American father: the family hero
who will be rewarded with a new tie, a pair of socks, or a coffee
mug that names him "#1 Dad." Well, what about the baby daddies
and sugar daddies out there? They will be lampooned in a special
weekend show performed by the Laughing Gas improv comedy troupe.
During two hilarious skits that pay tribute to paternity -- "Who's
Your Daddy?" and "I, Papi" -- audience members can challenge the
group's improvisational skills by suggesting bawdy fodder. Cast
member Gerald Owens will also bring the laughs as fictional talk-show
host Jesse Winfrey Donavera. "Because all those shows -- let's
be honest -- most of them are about paternity tests anyway," laughs
cast member Todd Rice. The show begins tonight at 11:00 at the
Main Street Playhouse, 6766 Main St., Miami Lakes. Tickets cost
ten dollars, but women who hug their man at the door and call
him "daddy" or "papi" will get in free. Call 305-461-1161, or
