Laughing Gas Invites You To "A
Very Barry Birthday" September 28-29th
The
Laughing Gas Comedy Improv Theatre Company, South
Florida's longest running professional improv troupe celebrates
the birthday of Barry Williams, made famous on the Brady
Bunch as Greg Brady.
In "A Very Barry Birthday" at the Main Street
Playhouse on Friday and Saturday nights September 28-29th, Laughing
Gas will present 90 minutes of comedy that will have you back
in bell-bottoms and getting a perm. It'll be a night that even
Sam the Butcher would cut into.
Any audience members that turn in some form of 70's paraphernalia
at the door will get in 2-for-1. The items turned in may be used
during the performance to create interesting and unusual scenes.
Anyone named Greg Brady (must have valid state-issued ID) gets
in for free.
And if the "real Greg Brady" (Barry Williams) were to show up,
we'd let him in for half price!
Barry Williams can be heard every day on the Sirius Satellite
Radio network on the Totally 70's channel from 2-6pm.
Information is on Barry William's Homepage at www.barrywilliams.com.
"Barry is a 70's icon," said cast member Todd Rice.
"Who didn't want to be him at the time? I wanted to move
into the attic and have a beaded curtain. Does that make me odd?
...don't answer that!"
The night will feature a special "time warp" to 70's
improvisational comedy, an improvised sitcom, and a scene that
changes pace with the times. All audience members will be invited
to sign a birthday card that will be sent to Mr. Williams as they
buy their tickets.
Laughing Gas has long been known as leaders in satirical and political
humor in South Florida and continues the tradition with this show.
Laughing
Gas provides family friendly laughter from a variety of themes
at 9pm and 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights in September at
the Main Street Playhouse in Miami Lakes. Laughing Gas then resumes
their normal 11pm schedule for the rest of the year.
Over the past year, Laughing Gas, South Florida's leader in topical
and satirical comedy, has performed shows taking on holidays,
the Academy Awards, movie and TV events, and performed benefits
for several major charities. This has earned Laughing Gas a reputation
as a comedic force in South Florida.
